Houghton and Wyton

Timber frame house just off the village square

These two villages on the banks of the river Great Ouse just a few miles upstream from St Ives are rich in half-timbered cottages of the 16th and 17th centuries. The interesting house on the left stands on the corner of the village square. Visit the Houghton and Wyton website to find out more.

Houghton Mill

Houghton is famous for the magnificent watermill dating from the 17th century (right). It is now owned and administered by the National Trust, and is open to the public between March and October each year.
