The Raptor Foundation


The Raptor Foundation is Cambridgeshire's bird of prey hospital and sanctuary. It specialises in the rehabilitation and rescue of birds of prey, mostly injured, orphaned or unwanted. Their 20 acre site just outside St Ives is home to more than 200 birds of prey: Owls, Hawks, Buzzards and other raptors.

What to Do

Apart from seeing these birds close up, there are also flying displays several times a day, weather permitting. One can watch the Hawks and Owls fly, and there is the opportunity to have an owl fly to you during the flying displays.

In addition to the birds the facilities include: Flower garden, tea room, art gallery, picnic area, falconry displays and a craft village. The site is suitable for disabled visitors and there is ample free parking. Coach parties are also welcome.
